Photo Op.

Hi everyone. Today was another great day with Laurel. We play about 2 hrs. with her and she even learned the sign for cracker. They told us she needed to have her pic taken for a document so they took us outside of the orphanage into the scariest park you have ever seen. Anyway, we went into this little bitty store underground and they stood her on a stool and took her picture. She didn't look too thrilled and wasn't sure what was going on (neither were we :) but she was a good sport. We hope to have find out when the judge will see us on Tuesday. Please pray that everything will be fast tracked so we can come home. I'm sure that is a common feeling when you're out of the country just wanting to bring your new daughter home.

  1. I am so thankful Laurel is beginning to bond with you and Mike. We will continue to pray that God works to make you all a family. We are also praying for the judge to look favorably on you "Americans" wanting to adopt Laurel.
We are praying God will give you and Mike a wonderful time together - that you will see His hand everywhere-that He will do a new thing in both of your lifes-that you will come back richer from having left all that is comfortable to follow His will in adopting little Laurel. We love you and are praying daily for all of you, including Noah and family here.

  2. Chuckling over this post and the image of the scariest park ever and a dark store for a photo op... I know you're homesick. So, does it mean that you might be able to bring Laurel home after Tuesday? Or will you have to return for a second visit? She is so cute and even if she was scared for the photo op, she still looks adorable posing on top of that little stool! Hang in there...it's so hot here at home anyway (high 90's). Thinking of you every day and so excited to meet Laurel. Prayers are with you. -- Sarah (p.s. still waiting for travel approval from China...tick-tock...

  3. She is just even cutier than the initial picture, and she looks like she's grown! I am so encouraged to see how she is responding to you both. How fun it will be when Lord willing she meets Morgan! Thinking of you and praying for you!!!

  4. I finally figured out I could look on this blog..so I am late in stating my congrats on a beauty! Such a difference from her other photo you all had. I see a sparkle in the eyes, and not only in hers but in yours! God is good all the time....missing you all here and hoping that you will find that your case has been expedited and you are home before we know it! It is interesting that Laurel is dressed weather appropriate, and I love the pic with the shoes of the care givers! Must be summer! Great pics and I am so glad that there has been indications of learning coming easily. It would take me a few tries to get "cracker" I am still working on thank you and no! Love you, enjoy your adventure!
