This journey we've been on has already had so many ups and downs, twists and turns. I've asked God so many times if this really is the path he wants us to take and we keep getting the same answer..... YES! We believe in adoption. We believe adoption is ordained by God and He commands us to "take care of orphans and widows in their time of need." Taking care of can mean many things...... all can pray, some can visit, provide meals, support, give money and many other things. Some can adopt. That is the journey we feel we've been called on to grow our family.
Meet Laurel. We found her on www.reecesrainbow.org. This organization is no stranger to me. I have been looking at these sweet angels for over a year now. This wonderful organization truly answers the orphans in their time of need. We found Laurel on Reeces several weeks ago and begun praying then. We are told she is deaf and likes other children. She likes to play with toys. She is described as a very smart little girl. Something about her wouldn't let us go. We BOTH got our answers from God and then started the process to Bring Laurel Home!! We have a long way to go (although when I count the months it sometimes seems frightenly close!)
Join us as we blog the challenges, rewards and trials of international adoption. To protect the process however, please do not post specifics about the country or Laurel if you know them.

Oh Martha, I loved reading your story! I can relate to so much of it! You will be with your precious little girl soon, and I am so excited that she will have a friend who is deaf also as we bring Morgan home. What a celebration it will be, and to watch them grow, especially in God's love.
